These two inlaid pieces are unique. The time consuming process of inlaid clay consists of carving the decoration, then pressing the light and dark clay into the grooves, and scraping away the excess. The shape is a traditional Korean shape, and the wood firing helps with the finished look. The cranes and pine are also inspired by Korean pieces.
